Fiji!

Last week we had our long awaited holiday in Fiji. After a few hitches when we arrived and despite children who decided 5:30am was a good idea to wake up every morning, we had a fantastic holiday. long enough that we were ready to come home, but when we did we felt like we had been away far longer than 7 days. Anyway, here are some of the shots from the trip. This slideshow will grow as I add more images to the set.

Lucas and Sam's 3rd Birthday party

Here are some photos from Lucas and Sam's 3rd Birthday party which we had yesterday in our backyard. The weather was good to us (for a change) and the boys had lots of fun!

It's all in the eyes

A friend, Jenny, was asking if we thought Holly's eyes were going to stay blue so I thought I'd have a look back through my photos and see if I could find any of the boys at the same age. For reference, here is Holly, now, at 6 and half months:

And here are Lucas and Sam at about the same age:
As you can see their eyes are already darker and greyer than Holly's eyes. I don't have any shots of Mitch at the same age where you can really see his eye colour, but in this shot when he was about 9 months old you can kind of see his eyes are brown: and the shot below where he is 1 you can see they are definitely brown.
So who knows if Holly's eyes will stay blue, she will be a lucky girl if they do because dark hair and blue eyes can be quite striking!

Sandpit Day 2

The Easter Loooong weekend means more time for playing in the sandpit, so here are a couple more shots of the boys' (with a bit of help from Dad) creations

And a few more cute ones of Holly and Sam

Sand pit

We've had a sand pit in the back corner of the garden which has been filled with dirt and other rubbish since we moved in and this week Meeks decided to clear it out (which was a HUGE effort!) and then today we filled it with fresh sand so the kids had a nice clean sandpit to play in. I bought a new wheelbarrow on Wednesday night to move the sand today and before we'd even finished the job the wheel of the new wheelbarrow was flat. Not happy! We'll be taking that back! Anyway, the boys were very excited:

Meanwhile Holly was inside playing on the mat:
A very happy girl!

A birthday, boys, boots and a baby

It was Meeks' birthday yesterday, but the day didn't start well with Mitchy having a high temperature so having to stay home. However aside from the temperature he was okay. Mum came over to babysit the boys and Holly and Meeks and I went to have a special lunch at Pilu at Freshwater. When we turned up they were actually filming a segment from Masterchef. We found out it was one of the reward lunches. So if you watch Masterchef very carefully during the Pilu reward lunch when they arrive at the restaurant, Meeks and I are in the background ... maybe :) Anyway, the food was fantastic. We were so happy to have a beautiful meal.

After we got home Lucas, Sam and I made Meeks birthday cake. Later when it was cooked and cooled Lucas and Sam decorated it (you can see Sam did some sampling!)

After dinner we Meeks blew out the candles and we all enjoyed the cake including Mitch who was feeling a bit better
and even Holly got some

Today I went and did some shopping and bought Mitch some soccer boots and pads and some extra socks and shorts for training. Now in my day, soccer boots were black and occasionally had a few stripes on them. These days soccer boots can be all sorts of colours and as much as I would have liked to find him some black ones, I had to get him some white ones because those were the only ones they had in his size. They also happened to be the cheapest ones there, but that was just an added bonus. Anyway, here they are:
Very smart looking and just in time for training this afternoon and his first game on Saturday.

That's about all the news, I start my new job next week which I'm kind of looking forward to and kind of not after being on holidays for the last two weeks.

Here is another photo of Holly, just because she's cute :)

Mitch's Soccer Gala Day

Mitch had a pre-season gala day for his soccer team yesterday afternoon. He was very, very excited about it and couldn't wait to get his soccer jersey. He had three 20 minute games over the course of about 2 hours and was thoroughly pooped by the end of it, but loved every minute of it. He did extremely well and scored a few goals which were celebrated in style. It's fair to say he has a little tendency to boasting about it, but we'll try to get on top of that before it causes any trouble. Anyway, here are some shots from the day.
